Scripture: Matthew 6:24 (NLT)
"No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other."
"No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other."
The Pharisees wanted Jesus to take sides between Rome and Israel, but He pointed to a greater truth: Divided loyalty leads to a divided heart. We cannot serve both God and the world. If our hearts are set on material gain, status, or approval from others, then our devotion to God will suffer.
Following Christ requires full commitment. It is not about balancing faith with worldly desires; it is about choosing Him first in all things.
Reflection: Is there something competing for your devotion to God? Surrender it today and make Him your priority.
