Bible Study for Friday, February 14, 2025 – Living in the Righteousness We Have Received

Opening Scripture:
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NLT)
"For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ."

Study:
In 2 Corinthians 5:21, we encounter the profound exchange that defines our justification: Christ, who was sinless, took on our sin so that we could be made right with God. This great exchange—the sinless Son of God becoming sin for us—reveals both the depth of God's justice and His love. It is through Christ that we are justified and made right with God, not because of our actions but because of His perfect sacrifice.

Living in the righteousness we have received means embracing the new identity given to us through Christ. It is not about striving to be righteous on our own; it is about living out the righteousness that has been credited to us. This righteousness shapes our thoughts, our actions, and our relationships. It calls us to reflect Christ in all that we do, living as people who have been transformed by His grace and love.

Reflection Questions:
  • How does understanding that Christ became sin for us change the way you view your own sin and your relationship with God?
  • What does it look like for you to live in the righteousness you have received through Christ?
Prayer Focus:
Ask God to help you live out the righteousness that has been credited to you through Christ. Pray for the strength to reflect His love and grace in all your interactions today.
