Daily Devotion for Sunday, February 16, 2025 – The Call to Radical Love

Scripture: Matthew 5:43-44 (NLT) – “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!”

Reflection
Jesus challenges us to go beyond what is natural—to love even our enemies. This command is not about ignoring wrongdoing but about responding with the love and grace that God has shown us. True love is not dependent on how others treat us but is rooted in our obedience to Christ. When we choose to love instead of hate, we break the cycle of bitterness and allow God’s peace to reign in our hearts.

Prayer
Father, help me to love as You love. Teach me to extend grace to those who have wronged me and to pray for those who stand against me. May my heart be softened by Your love so that I may be a true reflection of Christ in this world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thought for the Day
Loving your enemies is not a sign of weakness—it is a reflection of God’s strength in you.
