Opening Scripture:
Romans 5:1 (NLT)

Romans 5:1 (NLT)
"Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us."
Study:
Romans 5:1 describes the peace that comes from being justified by faith in Jesus Christ. Because we have been made right with God through Christ, we now enjoy a new relationship with Him—one marked by peace. This peace is not just the absence of conflict but a deep, abiding peace that comes from knowing that we are no longer separated from God. Through Christ, we have been reconciled to God, and this reconciliation brings us peace, joy, and assurance.
Justification is not merely a legal transaction; it also transforms our relationship with God. We are no longer enemies of God but are now His beloved children. This peace is a gift that enables us to live confidently, knowing that we are secure in God’s love and that He is with us every step of the way. This peace also gives us hope—hope in the present as we walk with God and hope for the future as we look forward to eternal life with Him.
Reflection Questions:
- How does the peace that comes from being justified by faith affect your relationship with God?
- What are some ways you experience the peace of God in your life, and how can you share that peace with others?
Thank God for the peace that comes through justification by faith. Ask Him to help you live in that peace and to be a witness to others of the hope and peace that Jesus brings.
