From the Heart of Brother Jesse – Friday, January 31, 2025 – Living Out Unconditional Love
As we come to the end of this week’s reflection, I want to remind you of the call to live out unconditional love in all aspects of our lives. In 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, Paul describes love as patient, kind, and selfless. It does not keep a record of wrongs, nor does it seek its own benefit. This love is the love that Christ has shown us, and it is the love we are called to extend to others.
Living out unconditional love requires us to die to ourselves and put the needs of others above our own. It calls us to forgive when it is difficult, to serve when it is inconvenient, and to be kind even when others are unkind. This kind of love is a radical witness to the world, as it reflects the heart of Christ and His sacrificial love for all.
Take time today to reflect on how you can love unconditionally in your relationships. Ask God to fill your heart with His love and to help you extend it freely to those around you. Remember, it is through this love that others will know that we are His disciples.
With Christ’s love,
Brother Jesse

From the Heart of Brother Jesse – Thursday, January 30, 2025 – Loving Our Enemies
Greetings to you in Christ’s name. Today, I want to revisit a powerful teaching from Jesus that we studied on Sunday—the call to love our enemies. In Matthew 5:43-48, Jesus commands us not only to love our neighbors but also to pray for those who persecute us. This is a radical love that reflects the heart of God Himself.
It is easy to love those who love us in return, but Jesus calls us to something higher. True Christian love is unconditional—it is given freely, without expectation of reciprocation. Loving our enemies does not mean we condone their actions, but it does mean we choose to extend grace and forgiveness, just as Christ has extended His grace to us.
As you go through your day, I encourage you to reflect on your relationships—are there any individuals you struggle to love? Let the love of Christ break through your heart and fill it with the ability to forgive, to bless, and to love, even those who may hurt you. In doing so, you will be a reflection of Christ's love in a broken world.
In His love,
Brother Jesse

- John 13:34-35 NLT – "So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other."
- 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT – "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged."
- How can you love others unconditionally in your relationships?
- What are some barriers that prevent you from loving others selflessly? How can you overcome these barriers?
- How does the unconditional love of Christ inspire you to love others?

Mid-Week Message - Christians All the Time
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Ephesians 4:29 (NIV)
I love to read. Immersing myself in a really good book has brought me joy since I learned to read. It has been a pathway to other worlds and I have taken part in adventures that I would never have dreamed of on my own. So many characters of literature have become pieces of my memory and heart. How I admire authors who can weave the tales that draw me in to the point that I feel as if I was a participant in the scenes that unfold.
As I have grown older I find that I am much more selective in what I choose to engage my mind. I long for the stories that are told in a wholesome way, lacking the crude expletives that seem to be so abundant in what is spoken these days. I simply don't understand, with the vast selection of words available, why it is necessary to choose such vile expressions. Words, written or spoken, carry power.
As I was considering this article and thinking of the verse above, a simple thought came to mind. Jesus is Jesus all the time. When He walked on this earth there was never a time when He was anything less than the Son of God. He didn't present Himself one way to strangers and another to His family or friends. Nor did he act one way on Sunday and another on Monday. He spoke, and lived, truth. He was genuine. Always.
Sadly, we don't see that as often as we should. Too many wear a Christian mask in public but behind closed doors become someone else entirely. Swearing and cursing are rampant in our society, even among many who claim to be followers of Jesus. Unwholesome talk fills our movies and our books but also our workplaces and our schools. It debases our morality and ruins how others view us. How can we ever expect to win others to Christ when we portray the world?
Just as Jesus is Jesus all the time, so we are responsible for being Christians all the time, if, in fact, we have been cleansed by His blood and become His disciples. We need to ask the Lord to help us walk and talk in ways that please Him and that edify others. Our words, written or spoken, should be chosen wisely because we represent Almighty God and we may never know whose life is being impacted by our presence. The seeds we sow, good or bad, matter. Both in public and in our homes.
Simply, our time on earth is not given to us to "fit in." We should be the anomaly rather than the norm. Our lives are brief and we may only have today to make an impact on the lives around us. Do we want to be remembered for sharing the Lord's love and speaking encouragement or as ones who professed to be Christians but showed little or no fruit that it was true? May the Father open our eyes and ears this week and lead us in the way we should go. God bless.
From the Heart of Brother Jesse – Wednesday, January 29, 2025 – Helping Others in Need
Good day in the name of our Lord! As we continue our journey through this week’s lessons, I want to reflect on our Christian duty to help others. Romans 12:13 challenges us to be ready to help those in need and to practice hospitality. This is a direct call to action—a reminder that our faith is not something to be hidden or kept to ourselves, but something to be actively shared with others.
We live in a world where many people are struggling, whether in material needs, emotional pain, or spiritual distress. As followers of Christ, we are called to meet these needs with love and generosity. It is not enough to acknowledge the struggles of others; we must step into their lives and offer our help, whether that is through providing food, offering a listening ear, or simply showing kindness.
Take time today to consider how you can help someone in need. Ask God to open your eyes to those around you who might need a word of encouragement, a helping hand, or a prayer. Remember, your acts of service, no matter how small, are powerful expressions of God’s love in the world.
With a heart of service,
Brother Jesse

From the Heart of Brother Jesse – Tuesday, January 28, 2025 – Loving in Times of Trouble
I trust that you are experiencing the peace and joy of the Lord this week. Yesterday, we reflected on the importance of patience and prayer in times of trouble. Romans 12:11-12 reminds us to be patient in our struggles, to rejoice in our hope, and to keep praying continually. These principles are not just comforting words—they are the very foundation of how we should live as Christians in a world filled with hardship.
When life brings challenges, it is easy to become discouraged. However, the apostle Paul calls us to rise above our circumstances by fixing our eyes on the eternal hope we have in Christ. We are to persevere in prayer, trusting that God hears us and that He is with us in every trial.
As you face any difficulty today, remember that God is faithful, and He will give you the strength to endure. Let this truth inspire you to remain hopeful and patient, knowing that He is working in you and through you, even in the most difficult moments.
God’s peace be with you,
Brother Jesse

From the Heart of Brother Jesse – Monday, January 27, 2025 – The Call to Genuine Love
I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we reflect on the message shared this past Sunday, we are reminded of the importance of loving others with sincerity. In Romans 12:9-10, the Apostle Paul calls us to a love that is not based on superficiality or convenience but one that is genuine and sacrificial. This love extends beyond words and reaches into the actions we take in service to one another.
We are called to honor each other and to place the needs of others before our own. This is the love that Christ demonstrated, and it is the love He asks of us. In our daily lives, may we continually ask ourselves: Are we truly loving others with the sincerity that Christ demands of His followers? Are we reflecting His character in our relationships?
As you go about your week, I encourage you to put this love into action. Reach out to those around you, show them honor, and let your actions reflect the love of Christ. May we be a community marked by a genuine love for one another, for in this, the world will see the power of the gospel at work.
With love and blessings,
Brother Jesse

Forgiveness is not just a recommendation; it is a command for all who follow Christ. Colossians 3:13 reminds us to forgive others as the Lord forgave us. Obeying this command is not always easy, but it is always right. Forgiveness doesn’t mean condoning wrongs or dismissing pain—it means entrusting justice to God and allowing Him to bring healing. Take a moment today to ask God for the courage to obey His call to forgive. He will give you the strength you need.
Walking with you in faith,
Brother Jesse

Mid-Week Message - The Everlasting Love of Our Father
I had this habit as a little one of getting in trouble first thing in the morning. I would get out of my bed, walk into the living room or kitchen and straight into a fight with my brother or sassing my mother. One way or the other, I found a way to start my day off with these words, "Just wait until your Daddy gets home." Those dreaded words set the tone of my days on a fairly regular basis for a span of my young years. My mother knew that I loved my father beyond measure and the worst punishment I could have was the knowledge that I would disappoint him.
Fast forward to my teen years. After church one evening, the youth group was going to the local A&W restaurant. Since I had driven my mother's car that evening, I offered to be one of the drivers. As I was making a left hand turn into the parking lot, one of my passengers said, "A motorcycle!" right before I heard it hit the car. The hardest part of the accident for me was calling my dad and telling him about it. By the grace of God, no one was hurt. But I had wrecked my mom's car. When my parents arrived at the scene I saw that my dad's left cheek was twitching, which was a tell-tale sign that he was angry. My heart was crushed.
Because I derived my picture of God from my relationship with my earthly father, I spent much of my adult life worrying that I would disappoint Him just like I worried about disappointing my dad. When I struggled with sin in my life I wondered how long the Lord would continue to love me. I was fearful that at some point He would give up on me. I have heard other people wonder how He could possibly continue to love them when they are unsuccessful at conquering the challenges life presents.
What I have learned through the years, as my relationship with Him has grown, is that His love has no end. God is not going to turn His back on us. Just as the prodigal son's father ran to greet him, so the Lord is waiting for us to return to Him when we stray. Sin is a fact of our lives. We have an enemy that is unwilling to cease tempting us with earthly pleasures that seek to pull us out from under the umbrella of God's covering. However, provision was made over two thousand years ago for the remission of our sins. It is the blood of Christ that washes us clean and allows us to stand before the Father and receive His acceptance and to be confident in His love for us.
I know so many people who are dealing with sin in its various forms. Aren't we all in some way or another? What I want to reassure everyone of is that we are not at risk of losing the love of our heavenly Father, no matter how difficult the road we walk might be. He is right there with each of us. Every step. Every struggle. Every tear. His love for us never wavers. There is nothing we can do to stop our Creator from loving us. All we have to do is to turn to Him and ask Him for his help and confess that we need Him. When we ask for His forgiveness, scripture says He will grant it. May we all walk in His love and peace this week.
From the Heart of Brother Jesse - Wednesday, January 22, 2025: The Power of God’s Mercy
God’s mercy is both humbling and life-changing. The king in Jesus’ parable forgave an unimaginable debt, showing us the depth of God’s love for His children. But that mercy calls us to action—it compels us to forgive others as we have been forgiven. If you’re struggling with forgiveness, remember that you don’t have to do it alone. Ask God to fill your heart with His mercy so that you can reflect His love to others. His grace is sufficient for every situation.
In His love,
Brother Jesse

From the Heart of Brother Jesse - Tuesday, January 21, 2025: Forgiveness Sets You Free
Have you ever considered how forgiveness not only heals relationships but also frees your own heart? Yesterday, we explored the story of the unforgiving servant, who became trapped by his refusal to extend the mercy he had received. When we forgive, we release ourselves from the prison of anger and resentment. Is there someone in your life you need to forgive? I challenge you to bring that burden before the Lord today and experience the freedom only He can give.
Blessings in Christ,
Brother Jesse

From the Heart of Brother Jesse - Friday, January 17, 2025: "Faith That Moves Mountains"
As we end this week reflecting on the centurion’s story, let us remember the power of a faith that trusts fully in Jesus. The centurion’s faith didn’t require signs or proximity—he believed that Jesus’ authority was enough to heal from afar.
This is the kind of faith that can move mountains. It’s a faith that doesn’t waver in the face of challenges but holds firm to the truth of who Jesus is. Today, let this faith inspire you to trust God with every area of your life. Surrender your fears, your doubts, and your burdens to Him, knowing that His power is limitless and His love is unending.
May we all walk forward with the boldness of a faith that believes and the humility of a heart surrendered to Christ.
In His grace,
Brother Jesse
