Bible Study for Tuesday, February 11, 2025 – Christ’s Sacrifice: The Means of Our Justification

Opening Scripture:
Romans 3:25 (NLT)
"For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood."

Study:
The heart of the gospel is the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Romans 3:25 speaks to the core of our justification: "God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin." Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross paid the penalty for our sins, allowing us to be made right with God. The shedding of His blood was necessary because sin requires a sacrifice to atone for it, and only a perfect, sinless offering could meet that requirement.

This passage emphasizes that justification comes through faith in Jesus Christ. It is through believing in Him and accepting His sacrifice that we are made righteous before God. Christ's blood shed for us is the ultimate demonstration of God's love and the fulfillment of His justice. Jesus bore the penalty for our sins, offering Himself as the atoning sacrifice.

Reflection Questions:
  • How does Christ’s sacrificial death deepen your understanding of God's love for you?
  • What does it mean to you personally to be made right with God through Jesus’ sacrifice?
Prayer Focus:
Reflect on the depth of Christ's sacrifice for you and express your gratitude to Him for the price He paid. Pray for a deeper understanding of His love and sacrifice in your life.
