Bible Study for Friday, December 6, 2024 – Hope in the Waiting

Opening Scripture
Romans 8:24-25 (NIV)
"For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently."

Study
Advent is a season of waiting. It is a time when we reflect on both the first coming of Christ and anticipate His second coming. While waiting is often difficult, it is in the waiting that we grow in faith and hope. The Apostle Paul reminds us that true hope involves waiting patiently for what we do not yet have, trusting that God will fulfill His promises in His perfect timing.

As we wait for Christ's return, we are called to live with hope, knowing that the fulfillment of God’s promises is certain, even if we do not see it yet.

Reflection Questions
  • What areas of your life require patient waiting for God’s promises to be fulfilled?
  • How can you actively wait with hope during this Advent season?
  • What does it mean for you to hope in what is yet to come?
Prayer Focus
Pray for the strength to wait patiently on the Lord. Ask God to help you live with hope and anticipation as we await Christ’s return.

Share Your Thoughts
Think about a time when waiting on God’s timing was difficult but rewarding. How can you encourage someone who is currently in a season of waiting?
