Bible Study for Sunday, December 8, 2024 – "The Prince of Peace"

Opening Scripture
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6

Study
The title "Prince of Peace" reveals a vital aspect of Jesus' mission. He came to establish peace between humanity and God through His sacrificial death and resurrection. His peace extends beyond the absence of conflict; it is a deep, abiding wholeness rooted in reconciliation and the restoration of relationships.

Isaiah’s prophecy reminds us that peace is central to Christ’s kingdom. It is not imposed by force but established through love and grace. As we embrace Jesus as the Prince of Peace, we are invited to live under His rule, trusting Him to calm our fears, guide our steps, and transform our hearts.
