Bible Study for Tuesday, December 17, 2024 – True Joy in Christ

Opening Scripture:
John 15:11 – “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”

Study:
In this passage, Jesus is speaking to His disciples, telling them that His joy will be in them, and as a result, their joy will be complete. True joy does not come from external circumstances but is found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. When we are connected to Christ, His joy fills us, and we experience a peace that surpasses all understanding.

During this Advent season, it is easy to get caught up in the material aspects of the holidays, but the true joy of Christmas is found in Christ alone. His joy fills us and leads to a deeper sense of fulfillment than anything this world can offer. As you reflect on this passage, think about how Christ’s joy fills you and how you can share that joy with others.

Reflection Questions:
  • What are the sources of joy in your life right now?
  • How can you cultivate a deeper relationship with Jesus during Advent to experience more of His joy?
  • How can you reflect Christ’s joy to others in your daily life?
Prayer Focus:
Pray for a deeper experience of Christ’s joy, that it would overflow into every part of your life and into the lives of those you encounter.

Share Your Thoughts:
What is the source of your joy this season? How can you tap into the joy that Jesus offers you?
