Opening Scripture:
Acts 20:35 – “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Study:
Joy comes not only from receiving but also from giving. In this season of Advent, we are reminded that true joy is often found when we serve others. Jesus showed us the ultimate example of sacrificial love and service, and we are called to follow His example. As we anticipate His birth, let us also reflect on how we can bring joy to others through acts of kindness, service, and generosity.
When we serve others, we become vessels of Christ’s joy. Whether it’s through sharing our time, resources, or love, giving of ourselves brings joy to both the giver and the receiver. Let us embrace the joy of serving others during this Advent season, just as Christ served us.
Reflection Questions:
- How can you serve others in a meaningful way this Advent season?
- What opportunities are there for you to give of your time or resources to help those in need?
- How does serving others bring joy into your life?
Pray for opportunities to serve others this Advent season and for the joy that comes from giving and serving in Christ’s name.
