Opening Scripture:
Philippians 4:4 – “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
Philippians 4:4 – “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
Study:
In the midst of everything happening around us, we are called to rejoice in the Lord. This command is not based on our circumstances but on the unshakable truth that God is good and worthy of our praise. The Advent season is a time to rejoice as we remember the gift of salvation and the joy that comes from knowing Jesus Christ. This joy is unchanging because it is rooted in the eternal love of God.
As we prepare for Christmas, let us make rejoicing in the Lord a daily practice. It is not always easy, but when we focus on the joy of salvation, we find a reason to rejoice even in difficult times. This joy can be a powerful witness to the world around us.
Reflection Questions:
- How do you cultivate a heart of joy in the Lord during Advent?
- How can you rejoice in the Lord even when circumstances are challenging?
- In what ways can you share your joy in the Lord with others?
Pray for a heart of continual rejoicing in the Lord, even in difficult circumstances, and for the ability to share that joy with others this season.
