Bible Study for Monday, December 16, 2024 – The Gift of Grace

Opening Scripture:
Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Study:
Grace is the unearned, undeserved favor of God, and it is through grace that we are able to experience the joy of salvation. This gift of grace was made available to us through the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. During this Advent season, we remember that the joy we experience is not because of our own efforts but because of the grace God has freely given us.

The Apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians that salvation comes through faith and grace, not by anything we could do to earn it. The joy of salvation is a gift, and gifts bring joy because they are freely given. As you reflect on this, consider how you can live in gratitude for this unmerited favor and share the grace of God with others.

Reflection Questions:
  • How does understanding grace deepen your joy in Christ?
  • How can you extend God’s grace to others this season?
  • In what ways can you share the grace of God with someone who is struggling?
Prayer Focus:
Thank God for His unmerited grace and pray that you will be a channel of grace to those around you, especially this Advent season.

Share Your Thoughts:

How has God's grace impacted your life? How can you extend that same grace to others?
