As we embark on this new week, I am compelled to reflect on the powerful message we received yesterday regarding the peril of greed and the call to prioritize God's kingdom. In Matthew 6:24, Jesus declares, "No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."
In a world consumed by the pursuit of material wealth and worldly success, it is easy to become ensnared by the allure of greed. Yet, as followers of Christ, we are called to a higher standard—a standard that prioritizes our devotion to God above all else.
Let us heed the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and choose this day whom we will serve. Let us turn away from the fleeting treasures of this world and set our hearts on the enduring riches of God's kingdom.
May our lives be a living testimony to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus our Lord.
