Letter from the Pastor - Thursday, June 13, 2024: The Incompatibility of the Sinful Nature with God

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As we progress through this week, I want to revisit an important lesson from our Sunday message, drawn from Romans 8:7-8. These verses remind us of the inherent hostility of the sinful nature towards God. "For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God."

The sinful nature is fundamentally opposed to God’s will, rejecting His commandments and living in rebellion. Those who allow their sinful nature to dominate their lives find themselves perpetually at odds with God's laws and unable to please Him.

Living a life that pleases God requires a transformation that can only be achieved through the Holy Spirit. We must surrender to His guidance, allowing Him to renew our minds and hearts. This transformation moves us away from rebellion and towards obedience, faith, and a desire to fulfill God’s will.

I encourage you to seek the Holy Spirit’s influence in your life daily. Pray for His guidance, study the Scriptures diligently, and engage with our community of believers for support and accountability. By doing so, we can overcome the hostility of the flesh and live a life that is pleasing to God.

In His Service,
Brother Jesse
