As we journey through this week, I am reminded of the importance of encouraging one another in our spiritual walk. The Apostle Paul urges us in Romans 12:10 to be devoted to one another in love and to honor one another above ourselves. One of the most powerful ways we can do this is by encouraging others to use their spiritual gifts.
During my time serving in the retirement community, I witnessed firsthand the power of encouragement. When I was called to substitute for our Sunday School teacher during a difficult time, I was unsure if I could step into the role. But the encouragement and support of the congregation gave me the confidence to use my gifts of teaching and serving. That experience taught me how vital it is to uplift and support each other.
I urge you to look around you this week and find someone who could use a word of encouragement. Whether it’s a friend, a family member, or a fellow church member, your words can have a lasting impact. Encourage them to explore and use their gifts, and remind them that their contribution is valuable and needed in the body of Christ.
Together, let us create a community where everyone feels supported, valued, and empowered to serve. May we continue to build each other up in love, as we walk this journey of faith together.
