From the Heart of Brother Jesse - Friday, September 20, 2024: Restoration through Grace

Dear Friends,

As we draw to the end of this week’s reflections, I want to leave you with a message of hope and grace. While spiritual pride and unchecked sin can destroy a church, the beauty of the gospel is that restoration is always possible. Paul’s instruction to the Corinthians was harsh, but it was rooted in love and aimed at redemption.

Even the person who had fallen into grievous sin in the Corinthian church was not beyond the reach of God’s grace. Paul’s ultimate goal was that this individual, after facing the consequences of their actions, would be restored to fellowship through repentance. And indeed, as we see in 2 Corinthians 2:5-11, the church was later instructed to forgive and comfort the repentant sinner.

Restoration is the heart of God. He desires that no one be lost but that all would come to repentance. As a church, we must be willing to forgive those who have fallen when they seek reconciliation. Grace is a gift we all have received, and it is one we are called to extend to others.

May we never forget that we serve a God of second chances, and may we always be ready to welcome back those who seek forgiveness and restoration.

Grace and peace to you,
Brother Jesse
