As we reflect on yesterday’s message, I am reminded of the many times I, like Jonah, have attempted to run from God’s call. In the story of Jonah, we see a man who, when faced with a divine assignment, chose to flee in the opposite direction. His reasons were perhaps understandable—fear, doubt, and a desire to follow his own path. Yet, as we know, running from God only leads to turmoil.
I, too, have faced moments where I gave God excuse after excuse, trying to avoid the call He placed on my life. I sought refuge in my work, believing that I could hide from His plan. But just as God pursued Jonah, He pursued me, patiently and persistently guiding me back to His purpose.
Today, I encourage each of you to examine your own lives. Are there areas where you may be resisting God’s call? If so, know that His plans for you are good, even if they seem daunting. Let us learn from Jonah’s example and from my own journey—when we surrender to God’s will, we find true peace and fulfillment.
