Sunday Praise & Worship - Overcome Evil with Good

A week ago today, Christians around the world saw the face of evil in the acts of a lone gunman who rained bullets and terror upon a crowd of 22,000 people enjoying an outdoor concert in Las Vegas, Nevada. Stephen Paddock, for whatever reason, took on the mantel of evil and darkness by beginning his shooting spree at 10:05 PM. During his reign of terror, Paddock managed to kill 58 people and wounded 527 people.

Instead of focusing on the tragedy, let us focus on the heroic acts of those who laid down their lives for others or provided help and assistance to those who lay dying or wounded. It is their acts of selfless service that we should use as our example of what it means to be good in the eyes of the Lord. By doing good to all those around us, we are able to overcome evil and show God’s love for the world. A love that came in the form of a small child who bore the sins of the world and died for each of us.
