During those early days, many weren’t sure that I would be alive. Considering the nature of my condition, it was very difficult for me to remain steadfast in my faith. Fear, uncertainty and doubt were my companions along this journey. The specialists and medical doctors didn't know what to say to me to give me comfort. Each hour presented new challenges for them as well as myself. I could have easily lapsed into a coma and died. During the night, I would find myself thinking about Joshua and the challenges and obstacles he faced.
Now, as we delve deeper into our time together, let us turn our attention to the timeless wisdom found within the pages of the Bible. In the book of Joshua, we encounter a man who faced his own set of challenges and obstacles. Joshua, handpicked by God to lead the Israelites into the promised land, was thrust into a position of great responsibility and uncertainty. In the midst of this daunting task, God spoke words of encouragement and empowerment to Joshua, which we find in Joshua 1:9.
As we explore Joshua's journey and the significance of this powerful verse, I invite you to open your hearts and minds to the lessons we can glean from his experience. Whether you are facing personal battles, uncertainties, or rare and severe challenges like the one I shared earlier, the message of Joshua 1:9 holds profound relevance for each one of us today.

In my own battle, I was confronted with a rare and severe condition that left me physically and emotionally drained. We can find solace and encouragement in reflecting on God's faithfulness in our own lives, remembering the times when He carried us through difficult seasons, provided for our needs, and brought about unexpected blessings.

Moreover, in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT), we read: "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work." This passage emphasizes the transformative power of Scripture in our lives. When we allow the Word of God to penetrate our hearts and minds, it not only convicts us of areas where we need correction but also equips us with the tools we need to face challenges and obstacles victoriously. Scripture becomes a training ground, shaping our character, renewing our minds, and empowering us to live out our faith in tangible ways.
While facing all of the challenges of a horrible and rare disease, I turned to the Scriptures to find comfort, peace and affirmation that no matter what happens, everything is in God’s hands. He was and continues to be the source of my strength and my refuge. With Him, I have nothing to fear.
