Preparing for the Birth of the Lord

In the simplest sense, advent means the arrival of a notable person, thing or event. For Christians, Advent, with a capital, "A", is a time of reflective preparation on the birth of the Jesus and what he came into the world to give each of us.

Jesus was, is and always shall be the personification of God's love for us and His gift of salvation. When you begin to think about God's love for us and His gift, you begin to realize that we are unworthy of both. We live a life of sin and disobedience. Our path leads us nowhere.

Then, a miracle happens. We hear the Word and are transformed from creatures of darkness to God's children. We walk in light and obey God's will. Our lives are dedicated to God and we worship Him daily. We live to serve and follow the teachings of His son, Christ Jesus.

Prepare your hearts and make him room as we celebrate the birth of our Lord, Savior and friend, Jesus.

John 1:14 New Living Translation

So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
